Extension to CLAAS spare parts depot

New SRMs from DAMBACH Lagersysteme in use at high bay warehouse in Hamm

The family-run business CLAAS KGaA mbH, founded in 1913 and based in Harsewinkel in northern Germany, is a global leader in agricultural and harvesting technology. A good supply of spare parts for their high-tech agricultural machinery is therefore essential. To meet the growing demand for spare parts with the same efficiency as in the past, a new high bay warehouse with a total of nine aisles has been added to the company’s warehouse at nearby Hamm.

Working together with general contractor Unitechnik Systems GmbH, the new storage and retrieval machines were installed very quickly. The 30 m high masts were lifted into the building via roof openings above the aisles.

This high bay warehouse has 56,000 spaces for pallets spread across nine aisles. CLAAS can now guarantee the availability of about 200,000 spare parts. Thanks to their reliability, DAMBACH SRMs are ideal where high plant availability is crucial.

With their small approach dimensions and no-buffers end-of-aisle protection, the MONO SRMs ordered for this project maximize the storage space available in the warehouse. Another challenge here was the tight timetable of just one year from start of work on site to commissioning the warehouse systems.
